Go Ahead, Make Someone's Day
Ughhhhhh I am officially sick and I blame everyone around me. My head and nose are all stuffed up and foggy and I keep clearing my throat. I don’t wanna be the person in the office constantly clearing their throat, but here we are. I will definitely be taking a walk at some point today to get some fresh cold pressed vitamin-c juice (keep an eye out for more info in tomorrow’s Friday Favorites post *eyeball emoji*).
My workout last night was actually better than expected! I went through a total body circuit (below), then trained an individual client, and then subbed for another trainer’s group class. Leading group fitness is so much fun with all the different energies and personalities everyone brings to class.
On my way into the office this morning I stopped at Di Bruno bros for iced coffee with almond milk as I often do, and decided to get some breakfast potatoes from the chef station because they smelled amazing. Whenever I’ve ordered an omelet or anything from there before, it is always the same guy cooking up the goodies. Today, I was wearing a midi dress with a blazer (so business, much casual). But I also had my Nikes on with white socks because I like to be as comfy as possible during my commute. The guy handed me my side of potatoes and said “you’re the only person I know who can pull off a nice dress and running shoes at the same time. Hands down, only person” and we shared a beautiful laugh together.
First of all, I didn’t even know we were homies like that, but I’m happy to know that it’s more than just me ordering potatoes from him occasionally and that he recognizes me among the sea of early morning train commuters. Also, it was a very nice compliment and totally brightened my day even though I was feeling sick and groggy and cranky.
Sometimes when I see someone wearing awesome workout pants or sick new shoes I think about telling them how much I like them or asking them where they bought something, but occasionally I hold back and keep my comments to myself. But really, who doesn’t want to hear that someone on the street was struck by their outfit and thinks that they look great? So don’t be shy, go ahead and make someone’s day! They might just be a whiny baby with a head cold who desparetely needs a pick-me-up.
