A Day Late and Many Dollars Short
Yesterday was my first day in my new position at work and I had a hectic night afterwards so I didn’t get the chance to type up a weekend recap! I know you were all devastated. It was a great weekend filled with friends and fun and about zero health and fitness. Don’t yell at me!
I had actually intended on having an early client on Saturday and then getting in my own workout at 9am, but a pipe burst at my gym and flooded it so that was out!
Instead, Dan and I got to sleep in a little bit and the we hit up the Whole Foods breakfast bar (which I didn’t even know existed!) before using our Groupon at an indoor shooting range for a lesson and target practice. I have never been shooting before and it was a pretty cool experience, mostly because I was a pro.
Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, chicken sausage, and a yogurt parfait that we topped with granola, shredded coconut, and blueberries and it was SO good. I asked Dan to please remind me to take pictures of our breakfast so I could share them on the blog but of course both of us started chowing down instantly and forgot. I did take a picture of my Whole Foods cold brew coffee though. Does that count for anything? Even though I already drank it? Whatever. At least now I know that Whole Foods is a one stop shop option for breakfast time!
On Saturday afternoon I headed over to the apartment of Jordan and Jeremy, sister and brother-in-law to my friend Sarah. We were all gathering there to surprise Sarah’s boyfriend Tyler for his 25th birthday! After the surprise went off without a hitch, we ventured out on a bar crawl through Old City Philadelphia. We started around 3:30pm and the night ended around 1! They gave us each a score card to play "pub golf" where you basically try to drink a crap ton in order to win. Although I was exhausted Sunday morning, it was such a fun day and I’m so glad everything went according to plan for Sarah’s sake!
Yesterday I taught my usual Monday morning bootcamp class at Performance Fitness, and waking up somehow wasn’t as terrible as I thought it might be considering my sleeping pattern over the weekend. Monday’s workouts are typically more HIIT and cardio-based, while Tuesday’s are reserved for strength training. Yesterday involved plenty of jump squats, jump roping, planks, and high knees!
